This Privacy Policy describes how Nihongo Work ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our Japanese language learning application. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Information We Collect

Nihongo Work is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data:

• No personal account required — the app works without registration.
• Local storage only — your study progress, scores, and saved flashcards are stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers.
• No location data — we do not collect or use your location.
• No camera or microphone — the app does not access your camera or microphone.

2. Third-Party Services

The app may use the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob — used to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.
• Anthropic Claude API — used for the AI writing correction feature. Text you submit for correction is sent to Anthropic's API. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for details. We do not store the content of your writing submissions.

3. Children's Privacy

Nihongo Work is intended for general audiences and language learners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

4. Data Storage & Security

All study data (flashcard progress, quiz scores, bookmarks) is stored locally on your device using standard Android storage. We do not transmit this data to any server. You can clear all app data at any time through your device's app settings.

5. Advertising

The free version of Nihongo Work displays ads provided by Google AdMob. These ads may be personalized based on your interests as determined by Google. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization).

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
